Comparison Between the Qur'an and the Bible Regarding the Abilities of Pharaoh's Magicians

Tree of Happiness

We will compare between the Qur'an and the holy bible regarding the ability of the magicians

In the Qur'an, the verses describing Pharaoh's magicians indicate that they used an illusionary form of magic to deceive the eyes of the spectators into thinking that their staffs had become snakes. This suggests that their staffs were not actually transformed into real snakes; rather, it was merely an illusion created by the magicians.

The Bible, however, tells us that the magicians were indeed able to transform their staffs into living snakes.

🔴 In Exodus 7:10–12, we read:

"So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and his servants, and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers; and they, the magicians of Egypt, did the same by their secret arts. For each man cast down his staff, and they became serpents."

Nor is this the only difference between the Qur'an and the Bible. For example, the Qur'an tells us that God sent frogs and blood as punishments to deter Pharaoh and his people.

The Bible, however, tells us that Pharaoh's magicians were able to perform the same miracles as well, bringing forth frogs and turning water into blood just as Moses and Aaron did.

🔴 In Exodus 7:20–22, we read:

"And Moses and Aaron did so, just as the Lord commanded. He lifted up the staff and struck the water that was in the Nile, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, and all the water that was in the Nile turned into blood. The fish in the Nile died, and the Nile stank, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile. There was blood throughout all the land of Egypt. But the magicians of Egypt did the same by their secret arts."

🔴 And in Exodus 8:7, we read:

"But the magicians did the same by their secret arts and made frogs come up on the land of Egypt."

Consider, then, the difference between the Qur'an and the Bible. The Bible describes the magicians as possessing abilities that appear miraculous, whereas the Qur'an portrays what they did as deceiving people through illusion.

My Christian friend and my Jewish friend, come and leave the teachings of the Bible and embrace Islam, for Islam is the religion of truth and happiness.
