I see some people sharing pictures of Jesus depicting him as an ugly Black man, while others share different pictures depicting him as a blond-haired, fair-faced man with colored eyes. What did the early Church Fathers say about Jesus's appearance, and what is Islam's stance on the physical appearance of Jesus?!
First:
Let us ask the Prophet Muhammad about the appearance of Jesus, peace be upon him, for he knows better about him than we do...
It was reported in Sahih al-Bukhari (3394) that Prophet Muhammad said:
[On the night of my Night Journey, I saw Moses, and he was a lean man with straight hair, as if he were from the men of Shanu'ah. And I saw Jesus, and he was a man of medium height, fair-complexioned with a reddish hue, as if he had just come out of a bath. And I saw Abraham, and I am the most resembling of his children to him.]
Here, Prophet Muhammad informs us about the physical appearances of Moses, Jesus, and Abraham.
As for Prophet Moses, he was a lean, slim man. His hair was (Dharban), meaning neither extremely coarse and curly nor completely straight, but balanced between the two... His height and skin color resembled the height and skin tone of the Yemeni tribe of Shanu'ah.
As for Prophet Jesus, he was Rab'ah, meaning of average height. He was "red-complexioned", meaning his skin tone leaned toward a reddish-white tint. The Arabs used the term "red" (Ahmar) to describe a fair-skinned person whose skin shows a rosy flush due to its fairness, just as Aisha was described as "Humayra" (fair-skinned). Therefore, Prophet Muhammad likened Prophet Jesus to someone who had been in a deep place away from sunlight so his skin would not darken—a beautiful description by our Prophet Muhammad for Prophet Jesus. Looking at him, one feels as though his hair is dripping with water.
As for Prophet Abraham, he resembled our Prophet Muhammad in appearance.

However, regarding the Bible believed by Christians, Christ had an unattractive appearance; therefore, it says about him in Isaiah 53:2-3 the following:
[He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He has no stately form or majesty that we should look upon Him, nor appearance that we should desire Him., He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and like one from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.]
As for traditional Christians, there is no universally agreed-upon image or icon of Christ among Christians. All images displayed by Christians are merely from the painter's own imagination; hence, you see variations among them according to the culture and ethnicity of each Christian.
Regarding the image of Christ on the alleged Shroud of Turin, this shroud is a forgery. The man on that shroud is over two meters tall, with a very short neck to the point that his head appears attached to his chest, and his head proportions do not fit the rest of his body. We will dedicate an entire book to the myth of the Shroud of Turin.
As for non-traditional Christians, they depict Christ as unattractive and dwarf-like in stature.
